নবুওয়াত লাভের পর প্রথম দিকে কিছুদিন এমন কেটেছে, যখন মহানবী (সা.)-এর কাছে কোন ওহী আসেনি । এ কারণে আবু লাহাবের স্ত্রী কটাক্ষ করল যে, ‘তোমার রব তোমার প্রতি নারাজ হয়ে তোমাকে পরিত্যাগ করেছেন ।’ তারই পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে সুরা দুহা অবতীর্ণ করা হয় ।
